OPPORTUNITY:

Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking to contract with an experienced OB/GYN Physician for a Hospitalist Group client in Meridian, AL 39301

The OB/GYN physician shall embrace a threefold focus on delivering a quality Ob Hospitalist program:

(1) Delivery of quality care that is evidence-based and consistent with the core values of the Hospitalist Group.

This position will be part of a team of clinicians at the assigned site working together with the support of the team lead, Medical
Director of Operations (MDO) and Director of Hospital Operations (DHO) to ensure that the program is meeting the hospital’s operational goals.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Delivery of Quality Care:

• Remain abreast of changes in medical evidence and apply relevant changes to medical practice
• Deliver obstetrical and gynecological care to patients including but not limited to providing contraceptive
services (at hospitals that provide contraceptive services)
• Ensure consistent performance of clinical services in accordance with program definition
• Deliver direct patient care to high-risk patients including situations where Maternal-Fetal-Medicine
support may only be available by telephone
• Participate in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols at the assigned site
• Ensure that practice consistently conforms to hospital guidelines, policies, and protocols
• Ensure that delivery of care is consistent with core values
• Participate in peer reviews or investigation of clinical incidents as requested
• Collaborate with team to ensure hospitalist participation in overall quality initiatives
• Ensure daily in-person handoffs between clinicians using a standard format
• Participate daily in Labor and Delivery board rounds
• Participate in clinical drills
• Collaborate with quality department as requested
• Collaborate with Certified Nurse Midwives if present at assigned site
• Completion of required educational courses (e.g. ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHR training)
• Completion of required corporate training

• Support community physicians and midwives through clinical assistance as requested including practice
coverage as requested and as safely available

• Reinforce the clinical aspects of the value proposition at the hospital
• Collaborate with team lead, MDO, and DHO to ensure that clinical services are meeting hospital
objectives and expectations
• Arrive on time for assigned coverage periods
• Work with the team to ensure that there is 100% schedule coverage at assigned site

Fiscal Stewardship:


• Ensure that patients are seen in a timely fashion
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation in the medical record; all charting must be completed by the
end of the assigned shift
• Ensure accurate and timely completion and submission of billing information by the end of the assigned
shift
• Ensure accurate and timely submission of requested quality data
• Collaborate with the hospital and team to deliver care that efficiently utilizes healthcare resources
• Collaborate and support community physicians and midwives to help maximize their practice efficiency
• Communicate regularly with team lead to discuss program concerns or opportunities
• Participate in monthly team meetings


SCHEDULE/PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:
The schedule is flexible. Please ask us for more details. There are 16 shifts at 24 hours available during the month.

    QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
    Board Certified Ob/Gyn Physician
    • Licensed to practice medicine in the state of assigned site
    • Highly relational, able to build strong rapport and positive working relationship with all stakeholders
    (Hospital leadership, hospitalist teams, nurses, staff physicians, and corporate staff)
    • Team oriented, service minded, goal focused individual who believes in the hospitals mission
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    Preferred Skills/Credentials/Experience/Education
    • Significant experience with obstetrical emergency care
    Mental and Physical Demands (per ADA guidelines)

    Physical Demands:
    • Sitting for long periods of time
    • Position also requires walking, standing, stooping or kneeling
    • Regularly required to use computer keyboard, mouse and telephone
    • Lift and carry objects such as books and files weighing up to 15 pounds
    • Close vision work and ability to adjust focus
