PsyPhyCare seeks a part-time Physician specializing in Primary Care, Urgent Care, Emergency Department (ED), or Family Practice to provide essential health services for a federally supported youth wellness program in Montgomery, AL. This role supports the health and wellness of students aged 16–24, preparing them for employment by promoting and sustaining their optimal health.
Work Schedule:
- Hours: 10 hours per week (2 days per week)
- Facility Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (closed on weekends)
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform initial medical evaluations within 48 hours of student intake and complete physical exams within 14 days of entry.
- Conduct required laboratory tests:
- Hemoglobin or hematocrit testing
- Pregnancy tests and Pap smears (for females over 21)
- Chlamydia, gonorrhea, and HIV testing
- Urine drug screening
- Administer immunizations, including boosters, hepatitis B for health trainees, and Tuberculin skin tests (Mantoux).
- Provide vision and hearing screenings.
- Arrange referrals to off-site physicians for specialized assessments as necessary.
- Coordinate prescription services with the Center Mental Health Consultant.
Qualifications:
- Active license to practice in Alabama.
- Ability to practice independently.
- Malpractice/professional liability insurance and general liability insurance.
- Current Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration.
- CPR/AED certification.
