PsyPhyCare, a division of Business Staffing of America, Inc., is seeking to fill a position and contract part-time with a Registered Nurse for a Federally supported client in St. Paul, MN 55108

Medical Services are required on a weekly basis to assist students (populations range from 100 to over 300) in attaining and maintaining optimal health with the services being provided at the Center. These services will involve the monitoring of the Health and Wellness program to ensure that students acquire the health-related skills, knowledge, and attitudes that help make them employable.

LOCATION:

Our client provides care at a Wellness Center servicing at risk youth on a residential campus to prepare them for meaningful employment. Students ages range from 16 thru 24 years at our location in St. Paul, MN 55108

PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:

40 hours per week or 5 days out of the normal work week.

This position is temporary for 6 weeks total. There is a possibility it will be extended near the end of the 6 weeks.

Shifts Available:

Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM with the weekends off.


ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in the medical examination of students.
  • Screens patients and refers them to the Center Physician, Dentist, Health and Wellness Manager or Career Counselor.
  • Observes, records and reports patient vital signs, symptoms, and behavior.
  • Performs first aid treatment as needed.
  • Assists the physician with patient examination; prepares patients for tests and examinations.
  • Provides guidance to students in matters of personal health and hygiene.
  • Prepares and administers prescribed medications as directed.
  • Maintains medical equipment and inventory of supplies and medications.
  • Maintains accurate medical records.
  • Provides input for case management of student health issues.
  • Promotes projects that support health and safety throughout the center.
  • Oversees the Center Mental Health Consultant schedule.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Licensed Registered Nurse in the state of Minnesota
  • Must have an active, unrestricted license to practice in Minnesota
  • Minimum of an AA in Nursing
  • Two (2) years related experience.
  • Valid driver’s license, with an acceptable driving record
